WALK HOLLYWOOD HISTORY
Want a new walking challenge? If you love the movies, you'll welcome the premier of this special program. Fill the "Hooray for Hollywood" booklet with 20 AVA walk stamps from qualifying walks that you've completed. To qualify, a walk has to go by a movie star's home or grave, a major motion picture studio or anyplace that was a filming location in a major motion picture.
View the sites from "American Graffitti" in Petaluma, walk up the "Rocky" steps in Philadephia or Savannah's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" route. Visit the graves of Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Jack Lemon in Bel Air. The Footsore Fiends currently has 5 qualifying walks in So Cal and we'll be adding more. Other AVA clubs also have routes available. You can see a list of qualifying walks in the box on the right.
PROGRAM START
The program begins July 1, 2009. You can order your booklet now. We'll start mailing them June 1. You have until June 30, 2012 to complete your 20 walks. When the booklet is full, mail it in to receive your "Hooray for Hollywood" patch for no additional charge.
EARN A LITTLE BLING BLING
If you complete the booklet, you'll receive a "Hooray for Hollywood" patch. The patch is fully embroidered. It shows a blue marquee surrounded by black and white lights. A popcorn box and the "Hooray for Hollywood" logo also appear on the patch.
